Hello, my name is Steinar Mikkelson and I am a recent graduate from Western Washington University majoring in Business Administration with a Marketing concentration. College was a very enlightening experience. Through my college experience and primarily my marketing classes I have learned and will continue to learn invaluable skills to help my development as a young professional. The marketing courses that I have taken have taught me an abundance of skills. I have learned the importance of analytics from a marketing perspective by undertaking case studies that required AB testing and regressions. Upon taking a course that focused on creating a product from scratch, my team and I created a podcast that interviewed WWU marketing alumni who own their own businesses. This process helped teach me the value of effective team work and how much effort is required to create any form of media.My work experience has consisted primarily in the food industry which saw me quickly rise through the ranks becoming a server when I turned 18. Apart from my accomplishments, working in restaurants has taught me the value of hard work and communication as it is easy to become overwhelmed when it's busy, but through my hard work I have experienced a lot of success working as not only a busser but as a waiter as well.
