Risk Management

• Manage QNB's International, Corporate, SME, Structured Finance, Project Finance, Trade Finance and Real Estate exposure within allocated portfolio USD 28 billion. Supervising and mentoring credit officers. Reviewing and recommending credit proposals by applying the most updated and relevant international best practices and highest industry standards in credit risk due diligence and assessment.• Assist the Director International Credit in creating key performance indicators (KPIs) for performance monitoring and quality measurement purposes for the credit risk division and ensuring that the objectives and key performance indicators of the division are complied and met.• Ensuring compliance with Qatar Central Bank and Basel II/III guidelines and providing accurate and timely information required to settle any requests for information, returns, reports or enquiries therefrom. Providing timely and accurate information to external and internal auditors, Group Compliance and ensuring that outstanding audit points are settled before their target dates.• My focus is on building and maintaining strong and effective relationships with other departments and units within QNB Group who are directly or indirectly involved with initiation, processing, execution, monitoring, control and administration of credit facilities to ensure the best interests of the bank are protected and to achieve the Group’s goals and objectives

• Managed a portfolio in excess of € 2 billion, while successfully supervised credit officers in identifying and minimizing debt losses by implementing all current credit division policies and procedures.• Revied credit applications, including optimum debt restructuring solutions, of current and prospectice wholesale customers, assignining appropriate credit ratings, approving accounts and assigning limits up to € 10 mil. personal authority, recommending higher limit to upper management for approval.• My priority is to safeguard the proper blend between business development and profit loss hazard.

In my opinion, on spot evaluation of early warning signals is the best recipe for mitigating credit risk
