My main responsibility is to assist a tenth grade student in transitioning from a secluded classroom into a less restrictive classroom environment in order to expose the student to higher expectations and prepare him for post-secondary education. I provide differentiated instruction in various subject matters and implement modifications to ensure the student comprehends all material and stays on task throughout each class.

I began as a short-term English and Language Arts substitute in various districts teaching grades ranging from sixth to twelfth. After a month, I became a long-term substitute in ninth grade English Lab courses where I taught test-taking skills and strategies for three months. I returned as a long-term substitute at the same school this year where I co-taught tenth grade English courses using small group stations, whole group instruction, and independent practice.

I began taking graduate courses during my undergraduate studies through a dual degree program, so I was able to complete my Master of Arts.
