About Stella Tran
I am a senior scientist with over 18 years of experience in preclinical pharmacology, in vivo studies, and mouse models. I have a PhD in Pharmacology and Therapeutics from McGill University and postdoctoral research experience at UCSF Diabetes Center.I worked as a senior scientist at Surrozen, a biotechnology company developing novel regenerative medicines. There, I conducted in vivo experiments using murine models of human diseases, such as T1D, T2D and wound healing. I also contributed to testing antibody platform development and writing study reports to support pre-IND filings. Before joining Surrozen, I was a research scientist and supervisor of the Transgenic Mouse Production team at the Lawrence Berkeley National Lab. I led and optimized the logistics to efficiently run the pipeline that generated thousands of transgenic, knock-in, and knock-out murine models on a yearly basis. I also collaborated with other researchers to investigate the functional significance and expression pattern of non-coding DNA sequences linked to human genetics questions of interest, using CRISPR/Cas9 gene-editing techniques and pronuclear microinjection of mouse zygotes. I am passionate about advancing the scientific knowledge and the therapeutic potential of pharmacology and genomics. I have published over 20 papers in peer-reviewed journals, and was awarded the Vera M. Long Outstanding Diabetes Scientist Post-Doctoral Fellowship in 2016. I am fluent in English and French, and have excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
Listed skills include Molecular Biology, In Vivo, Cell Signaling, Biochemistry, and 20 others.
