Forecast severe weather conditions in order to safely position myself and a crew of up to three others ahead of severe storms affecting parts of Kansas. Document via live video stream and telephone reports the storm development, movement and threats while maintaining the safety of our crew. Report directly to the National Weather Service severe conditions observed. In time of extreme disaster such as Greensburg, KS (2007) and Moore, OK (2013). Utilize my EMS and CERT training to assist communities impacted by major storms. I also speak to school groups, community service groups, and scouting groups concerning storm safety, the purpose of storm chasers, and identifying important features of storms to help individuals keep themselves safe when storms threaten.

In addition to my Communication Specialist role, I am now the point person for the company's medical equipment logistics. In this role I receive and prioritize problem reports; track the location and condition of LifeTeam's biomedical and base equipment; and coordinate preventive maintenance, loaner equipment and other issues with vendors.LifeTeam presently operates critical care aircraft and ground units from ten bases covering Kansas and parts of Nebraska, Oklahoma, Texas and Colorado. Accurate, correctly-functioning equipment is essential to our crews' ability to transport patients safely and in a medically-appropriate, rapid manner.

I was recently delegated the logistics planning for the company's Communications Center move from Newton, KS to Wichita, KS. In addition to planning tasks for 10 Communications Specialists to prepare for this move, I also assigned research and data entry work needed for the opening of a new Rotor-Wing base in Colby, KS. The plan involved about a week of preparatory work and staging the equipment and personnel to have two to three Communications Specialists on-duty at all times the computer system and phones were up, implementing the hot backup plan for phone and radio systems, and installation of the IT equipment in the new facility as it arrived from Newton.I also was charged with communicating the plan to our air crews and administrators, along with several alterations in normal procedure to accommodate the planned downtime. The full comm center was ready for the transition to the new systems in less than half the time it took vendors to deploy the back-end systems in the new location.On a daily basis I deploy available fixed-wing and rotor-wing aircraft in response to requests for emergency transport. This involves accurately receiving and communicating pertinent information concerning the request. I anticipate flight crew needs during the transport and ensure those needs are met in the most effective, timely manner possible. This involves rapid management of a dynamic system of personnel and equipment and making decisions that are right not only in the moment, but which will remain so for the duration of the transport (sometimes up to eight hours or more).Workload is distributed among a two- or three-person team to ensure quick, accurate and responsive customer service to medical facilities, flight crews, patients and other stakeholders.

I founded the first, and currently the largest, outsourced provider of Local News for radio stations. As the company grew, my role became focused primarily on the technology powering the company. I wrote the company's custom news management software, News Dashboard. I also designed the high-availability server setup to deliver the company's MP3 audio files to stations that has achieved 100% uptime over the past four years. I also administered the company's email, remote access, VoIP phone system, and WordPress websites (two for the company and two which host radio station news sites). I also train all new hires via remote desktop, as well as supporting Windows and a few Mac users, along with our Linux servers...now cloud-based, previously on dedicated hardware.

Helped drive the news collection effort for the long-time leader in TV news in Wichita. Also coordinated the station's storm chasing team.

Determined which reporters covered what, and covered Education and the Court System. Coordinated the KFDI Mobile Units for one year. Co-lead of the cluster's Business Continuity Planning group.During my time at KFDI, I was the recipient of 11 regional and 5 national Edward R. Murrow awards from the Radio-TV News Directors Association, including all the individual categories. Also received numerous AP and Kansas Association of Broadcasters Awards.

Started and built a small web hosting and design firm.

Was responsible for all communications and technical/computing infrastructure to support 1/3 of the state of Mississippi and 15 parishes in Louisiana. Consolidated three dispatch centers into two, then moved the entire administrative and dispatch facility across town with zero downtime.

Programmed this Music-formatted station in Plainview, TX and was responsible for the only time it has ever appeared in the Amarillo and Lubbock rating books simultaneously.
