Development, installation and commissioning of three custom systems used for quality inspection of ultra-pure polyethylene (XLPE), and it is of utmost importance that the plastic is not contaminated. The quality assurance is done by optical inspection on an extruded tape, using an advanced line scan camera. Defects are located by means of pattern recognition. I managed contacts with many suppliers and several subcontractors. I also led the installation, which took place in South Korea. This system consists of mechanics, mechatronics, electronics, and an advanced (custom made) software. The system operates in a clean room environment.

Development, installation, and commissioning of a new quality inspection system for large steel plates. System consist of mechanics, ultrasonic transducers, electronics, and software.

Enhancements of the inline wall thickness meter by implementation of Kalman filters. The wall thickness is measured by six ultrasonic transducers, placed in a ring around the pipes. The sound is transmitted to the pipe via squirters. Since the pipes have mill scales on them, due to the production process, filtering the data is of utmost importance.

Project responsible for a system for visualizing ultrasonic measurements from a recovery boiler. The system processes the measurements, taken by a sled which is run along the steam pipes, and visualizes the state of the recovery boiler in 3D.
