Was responsible for planning routes for the best and safest route and with a 0% failure. Benjamin Franklin said "By Failing to prepare you are preparing to fail". other duties included the setup of new and used homes. I also did the grade work for the pads that the homes sat on. I did all the general and preventive maintenance for the company as well. The reason I no longer work with Bama Transport is owner retirement but while my time at Bama the company had significant customer satisfaction rating increase and with the preventive maintenance scheduling I did downtime was almost eliminated.
  • Boatright Welding And Fabrication

This has been a business that I started and did on weekends and evenings. My boss from Bama Transport talked me in to doing so after seeing my work on the tongues I had been welding on the mobile homes. It is something that I enjoy that being welding and fabrication. The business consisted of me doing repairs to building utility trailers and anything in between. While doing this part time I met lots of good people and earned a good reputation around the community and a far. Overall was successful with very minimal complaints and 95% return business.

Like my welding business this also something I did when I wasn't on the clock or on call with Bama Transport. This business consisted of me locating , cruising, negotiating and purchasing standing timber and timberland , after negotiating the landowner and myself would come to an agreement and then legally binded through timber contract. The next stage was the harvesting and managing the tract of timber. I had my own proven method of harvesting the timber that was a generational cutting as opposed to traditional clear cuts or other type of select cutting. I have had lots of years of experience growing up in a sawmill environment I witnessed all the different variations and methods of harvesting timberland and came up with the technique mentioned earlier with great success in doing so. I had a phenomenal client approval and with that's what kept the business going was word of mouth advertising through satisfied customers/clients. While this has been something I have did most of my life I decided that it's time for me to look to getting out of this and concentrate on bringing my skill set , knowledge, diversity, and passion for success to a employer that when combined the opportunity is endless!

While working with SPG I cut my teeth so to speak in the heavy industrial scene although I had had experience with heavy industrial it was a totally different setting. aI started on the as a ironworker welder. It wasn't long a few months after getting recognized as a positive, hard working leader and pretty good welder and fabricator lol I got promoted to foreman but the same work level stayed same I never slowed up or cut corners it was then that leading by example was doing good in Gloster ,MS punch lists were met no near misses or close calls. Another few months passed and I was offered the general Foreman position which I gladly took. I was still hands on but with promotions and moving in a deeper supervisory role comes different skills and scopes of work to take on and even more so when my then superintendent came to me and asked if I was ready , I asked ready for what it's not lunch time yet that's when he informed me that he was going to Louisiana where SPG had another crew there working for the same company building another pellet mill. I hesitated a few breathes and told I wasn't expecting this but would gladly replace him and told him I had big shoes to fill. I finished out the last 13 months all the way to turn key leading a great group of men and ladies to a successful project that was done timely , effectively and above all safe. After that job ended I went to Iowa to a job that I was to work as a joining superintendent on a salt plant we where out biggest scope of work was installing conveyor systems. It was another successful project with good overall satisfaction rating minimal downtime and accident free. When this job concluded we got a ROF and I since have been in contact with Brian Holcombe the owner of SPG and his brother Josh we parted on good terms and they are scholars of men and glad that I met them.
  • Boatright Sawmills
    Superintendent/Mill Manager
    Boatright Sawmills May 1996 - Jul 2014
    Hackleburg, Alabama, United States
I started working here when I was 11 years old in the summers and I hated it. It was hot and all my classmates were swimming in the creeks or swimming pools and I was having to work. Little did my stubborn headed self know the depth of knowledge and experience I was receiving. With that knowledge I got to grow with the company and I would like to think contributing a lot in the growth. When I started we were sawing on average 8,400 board ft. of cross ties 2,400 ft of lumber. Ending we were consistently sawing 16,840 board ft. of crossties 10,200 board ft. of lumber that's double in production. That is what I did here and my work ethic, standards , morals and determination is what I will bring with me whoever gives me the opportunity to help them take their company to levels they have been trying but can't quite reach!!!!
