Aurora St Christopher's School is a DfE registered Independent School providing specialist education for pupils aged 5 to 19 years with severe language and communication difficulties and with profound and multiple learning difficulties.The role involves supporting the development and maintenance of a stable, happy and caring environment for the children to live and learn in. I work with children and young people, with a variety of learning difficulties, providing appropriate personal and emotional support within residential and education/learning environments and during off-site activities.

Based at senior high school level, with students aged 15-18, I was responsible for the lesson structure and implementation for students at three schools, as well as contributing to the evaluation process by constructing tests and assessing students. I also regularly visited a school for the deaf and assisted in English classes across elementary, junior high, and senior high school level.Outside of the classroom an active role in English based town events for children of varying ages is employed. This has included Halloween and Christmas parties, events for elementary level children to not only experience the customs and traditions of international holidays but also an opportunity to use English in a fun non-academic situation. For older students in junior and senior high school, English camps have been held for students to develop their English ability and understanding outside of the classroom in a fun environment. I have also taken part in festivals, parades, sport competitions and other town events.
