My first love was cooking so I became a chef straight out of school until I had my beauty son Adam. I was a single parent & it was a challenge to work to make ends meet & take care of my son; luckily I have a wonderful family.My mum took me to netball to watch her team play and I became hooked, absolutely love the game from there I developed many valuable leadership & team skills that I have been able to draw from in my life & work. I became an umpire, a coach, a coach developer & assessor, meeting & helping many people in more ways than I ever imagined. In the mid 90's I met the father my 2nd adorable son and by the end of the decade we started up a forktruck company, where I was a company director. How did I get into it from chef & coach, well my partner was from the forktruck industry and my families business is still to this day in the motor trade so I already had the skills and knowledge from growning up helping in the family business. unfortunately my relationship failed and with it the business; I chose to take what I learnt and put it to good use instead of dwelling on the what ifs (Richard Branson is one of my hero's). Opportunity soon knocked when a women came to watch a session I was coaching and offered me a job coaching in primary schools which I did for 5yrs. I learnt to coach many more sports and more importantly life skills to the children; in the process I gained skills and qualifications to add to my growing collection. I have strong principles and beliefs when it comes to coaching the whole person, it cannot be rushed and I reuse to do a half as... job when it comes to people's health & wellbeing so moving on was best for me. Now I work for ChelmsfordStar coop as a supervisor, I enjoy working in the shop and love working with my colleagues, as far as I'm concerned they are the best but then I'm biased. Everyday is different and our customers are a diverse interesting part of our community at the shop. We are more than just a place to buy groceries to the people we serve; the skills I have acquired on my life's journey are still helping others and having a positive impact on peoples lives. what I want to do now is to learn and progress and be the best that I know I can be, I'm highly competitive and very much want to be part of our head of foods vision. Our shop together with our fantastic team has the potential to be the best in the business, ok I'm bias, given half a chance I can make that happen, I have the skills, the learning attitude to gain the knowledge to do that. loving life
