Spent early career as support worker in specialist residential college. Trained with Bath Advisory Drugs Service in drugs counselling. Completed an access course at Wiltshire College in 1995 and then completed my degree. Gained a PGCE and worked for 10 years at a specialist residential post 16 college, for students with Asperger Syndrome - liaising with mainstream colleges, and managing support and teaching team. Also secured funding for learners via local authorities. Had a gap, when remarried and relocated becoming step-mum to 2 small boys. Enjoyed some supply work for Ravenswood School in Nailsea, working in the 16+ classes. Then started working full time with NEET learners at Weston College, before moving on to teach psychology on the Access to Higher Education course, where I am now. Completed training in autism, counselling and mental health.
