Last year was dam wild ride for work. In between the Wellington office fitout, Sarah & I were given the opportunity to work together again on a brand new fitout for our Auckland peeps. Our main focus being the design, look & feel and the overall functionality & experience of the space. Using a mix of retro, modern and daring use of colour to create something that’s interesting, surprising, fun and full of personality. The biggest challenge for me was mapping out the layout so it would all flow, doing so virtually over the lockdown period. Our offices are a very important means of attracting and retaining high quality employees and we think the environment should be a source of pride for our people. We thoroughly enjoyed bringing our madness into these two spaces.

This roles requires me to be superbly organised, have a positive outlook, be proactive, calm, resourceful under pressure and be physically fit. Being a go-to person for employees requires a positive responsive person who can always find a way to make things happen.Event Management- Accountability for all company events.- Co-ordinate venues and manage all event details.- Creation and development of our large company events. - Research and order the cuisine for the lunch we provide every fortnight, 350 meals. - Work with our Comms team to align with the different charities we support. Project Coordination - Management of office moves, fit-outs and renovations.- Provide design elements and work with architects for any new office works. - Develop options for facility renovations and/or re-configurations. - Lead the scheduling and planning of special projects.- Decision making around design elements and use of new office spaces. - Communicate plans and timelines to Management and communicate to all employees affected. - Update floor plans and ensure sufficient space is allocated for teams and their growth.Office Environment - Office functionality and appearance for our three Wellington offices. - Understand agile environments & ways of working for employees that align with our TM vision. - Proactively seek out new ways to improve the office environment and company culture.- Liaising with service providers about day-to-day issues and building requirements. Leadership- Manage the part-time Administrator.

I purchased ClosetDrop when I was twenty and treated it like my university, Google being a helpful professor. Owning the business taught me how to really target for a specific audience, juggle multiple projects and deliver a service that was novel at the time. Themes for Special Events was a busy Event Management company based in Wellington. I worked part-time throughout college and joined the team full time once completed. The fast paced environment developed my organisational skills and challenged me to think far in advance and on the spot. Some of the major events I themed with the team: DHL British & Irish Lions NZ Rugby Tour, All Blacks Vs South Africa Test Match, Dressing room for AC/DC, The Annual Rugby Sevens Tournament, Jim Beam Homegrown, Shihad music video, The Annual Tui Awards, corporate rooms for Jon Bon Jovi & countless weddings. - Development of concepts for themed functions - Communication with clients - Plan and prepare event- Hands on, physically fit to execute event- Creating floral arrangements - Design and publish brochures when required
