The main purpose of my role is to develop a sustainable improvement in information management skills and the quality of clinical data within GP practices.I have excellent knowledge of clinical coding standards and systems and the Quality and Outcomes Framework and work to implement and maintain a programme of data quality initiatives within Primary Care. My particular specialities encompass training and education around clinical terms coding, Medical Terminology and Note Summarising as well as MIQUEST, CHART, QMAS and other data extraction tools. I also work to develop good practice guidance in partnership with primary care clinical system users to support data fit for sharing.

I had responsibility for Payment by Results project on behalf of the Audit Commission. This involved co-ordination of audit programme throughout the year and ensuring all deadlines were met as well as quality assurance of all audit reports. I acted as primary contact for lead auditors, customers (hospital trusts) and Audit Commission managers, ensuring effective communication between all three. I also ensured all data was prepared for audit in a timely manner. I also undertook systems training within hospital trusts. 3M HIS offer a range of clinical coding software and my role involved going into clinical coding offices and training customers in their uses and benefits.I also had overall responsibility for re-writing and updating of all 3M HIS systems manuals and producing them as e-books and in document format using Help and Manual software.Other duties as required included administration of training courses, writing the customer newsletter, various marketing tasks and arranging customer user group meetings.

Working within GP practices deploying a new computer system as part of the National Programme for IT. The process involved data extraction, data checking and change management.

Overall responsibility for delivering the Young People's Project within the Kirklees area, including budgeting, staffing and all activities. The project worked with young people who had been victims of crime or were considered at risk as well as awareness sessions around bullying within schools.

Working within a retail branch environment to ensure all targets were met. I looked after a team of five staff and when I left we were the best performing branch in the area. As Branch Manager I had the responsibility of maintaining the safety and security of the branch environment and making sure that all activities were compliant and in line with regulatory procedures.
