I have worked for the NHS since 1993, I have a wealth of experience in the adult setting mainly acute surgery, colorectal, stoma care, wound management, urology, gastrointestinal and was a pain specialist nurse for 10 years. In 2014 I decided I wanted a new challenge and my growing interest in health promotion and health education led me to complete a degree in public health. I have worked as a community practitioner in public health specialising in school aged children since then- school nurse. I have a general interest in mental health and wellbeing and completed a post grad certificate in brief interventions to support young people with low level emotional health difficulties. I am passionate about public health, education and am looking to progress my career in these areas. I worked as a clinical educator teaching on the Nursing Associate Programme and leading in the public health module and obtained my Postgraduate certificate in Academic Practice. I have moved to industry working at Medicareplus as a nurse advisor, maintaining my love for teaching, evidence based practice and a desire to support positive patient outcomes.I have since worked in Sefton supporting a new puic health initiative but I have missed working directly with children and young people and very excited to be heading to the crisis team. I work hard, love to challenge myself, determined to make a difference to people's lives.
