How can we understand complex biological systems like microbial communities? By using a combination of systematic high-throughput experiments and computational modelling! I use a combination of omics technologies to study the regulation of metabolism in microbial communities. Specifically, I am interested in how xenobiotics, such as pharmaceutical drugs, pesticides and pollutants, affect the physiology of our gut microbiome. I have over 7 years of experience in designing scientific experiments, conducting liquid chromatography - tandem mass spectrometry measurements of the proteome and metabolome, as well as analysing, visualising and communicating scientific data.
