EAA Portfolio Advisers GmbH (“EPA”) is the portfolio manager of the Erste Abwicklungsanstalt (“EAA”, the "First Winding-up Agency" in Germany). That agency was established to wind down the >€100 billion risk positions of the former WestLB. The EPA business consists of about 90 people in Düsseldorf, London and New York and has managed portfolios in almost all asset classes globally for EAA since 2010. As of January 2016, it manages c€32bn of risk, covering a broad range of asset classes, sectors and regions. Specialist teams handle significant volumes of non-performing loans, project finance, and structured credit portfolios as well providing extensive analytics and stakeholder (regulatory) reporting.Since 2010, EPA has developed a suite of portfolio management and surveillance products with the objectives to provide maximum transparency over portfolio and single risk positions to EAA and its stakeholders and also to be prepared, and in a position, to react quickly to external developments in order to capture value in line with the financial and other objectives set by EAA.EPA invests significant effort to meet relevant regulatory and governmental requirements around the EAA portfolio. It has established a flexible and scalable platform built on people and integrated EDP applications, enabling end-to-end portfolio management. In other words, from single asset management to strategy, analytics and reporting of a portfolio with about 45,000 discrete positions in total.
