CurrentThe Industrial Generator has its headquarter in Erfurt and is part of the Siemens Energy Transformation of Industry Business Area. Erfurt together with the sites in Görlitz, Brno, Nuremberg, Jundai and Le Havre form the Steam Turbine and Generator (STG) Business Unit.The Erfurt plant was established in 1945 as a VEB service site for transformers, motors and generators. In 1991 Erfurt was integrated into the Siemens Kraftwerksunion, todays Power Generation Division. Since 1998 Erfurt is the competence center for the development and production of industrial air-cooled generators in the power range from 25-370 MVA, producing some 70 generators per year. In addition Erfurt serves as a vital component manufacturer for the SE GS Large Generator and Large Steam & Syncon Business Units in Charlotte and Mühlheim and their water and hydrogen cooled generator product portfolios.
