Feature Leader Interior Noise
Göteborg, Västra Götalands Län, Schweden
Global responsibility for the vehicle feature "interior noise and driveline-borne vibrations". I was in charge to secure that the buses we developed and built were silent and pleasant enough in operation to fulfill the requirements of the market. Together with our product planning team I determined the required feature-level, formulated measurable targets, evaluated these against the competition, developed a vision for the development of the feature in the future and secured that it was introduced in new development projects. I then directed the work on interior noise and vibrations inside development projects and made sure the noise requirements were introduced and followed. For this I broke down the targets from complete vehicle level to contributions of separate vehicle-systems (e. g. driveline, compressed air-system etc) and made sure that all concerned system-owners designed in appropriate ways so that the targets could be met. This included regular reviews of the design and providing advice on good design for NVH (noise, vibration, harshness). I then defined tests on system level and on the complete vehicle, and instructed the test engineers to perform these according to specification. Together with them, I performed measurements and customer clinics. I provided guidance in cases of quality issues related to my feature and supported with measurements and simulation for troubleshooting. I developed prognosis methods and supervised advanced engineering projects and thesis workers. From 2016 I served as technology specialist for NVH.My work touched virtually every area of acoustics and I was lucky to contribute to major projects such as the global Eu6 makeover, the 9800 coach series and the development of Volvos first plugin-electric and fully electric buses as part of great engineering teams.I have worked with NVH at the R&D Center in Gothenburg continuously since 2010 through technical consulting company ÅF and was directly employed by Volvo from 06/2015.
