About Stephan Späth
After graduating in meteorology I started my PhD on statistical corrections of regionally-aggregated wind power forecasts. I developed and tested methods to create skillful and reliable forecasts. After the PhD, I moved to industry. At ENERCON I was part of a small team that implemented internal weather and wind power forecasts to aid construction and service planning. We wrote efficient and failsafe software that ensures timely delivery of forecasts. Afterwards I was working mostly in energy trading where I advise traders on a daily basis and try to find business-relevant insights in meteorological and market data.
