Stephan's interest in photography began when he was 8 years old - He turned a storage area into a studio with old family black and whites, a Yashica-Mat and a tripod. Stephan works as a professional photographer and picture desk editor for Dawn Newspaper in Karachi, Pakistan and manages the news photographers working in the country.His work has been published and exhibited in Pakistan and internationally. He has photographed the many Hindu Temples in Karachi, the Pakistani Kashmir, 2010; Pakistan’s floods, 2008 Quetta earthquake etc. "Death and the Christian Cemetery" and the "Lyari Crisis" are among stories to have appeared in the now discontinued Herald Magazine.He has documented the Mohanna people in rural Sindh province of Pakistan, the indigenous Newars in Nepal and the modern Dubai metropolis among many stories done for the Dawn Newspaper and its publications. His ongoing projects include, "Angkor Calling" a documentation of black and white film as well as digital photographs on the ancient Khmer Empire and heritage through Thailand & Cambodia. His work on Hinduism in Pakistan is also a long term project that he continues to pursue.Stephan's vast experience enables him to work for clients as a commercial photographer providing photographic and video services specializing in portraits, fashion, weddings, lifestyle, food, architecture, travel, documentary photography, product and E-commerce work.
