30 years advising pension plans on private equity investment and GP/fund of funds selection.I started out with Bacon & Woodrow (now Aon) in London in 1988 covering private equity manager research and selection. After working for different larger pension plan consultants I decided to strike out on my own to provide a conflict free service to institutional investors. Throughout my career I have advised pension plans, and other institutional investors, on a range of investment issues but, focused on private markets.Specialties: • Identifying, sourcing and selecting private equity managers.• Negotiating and reviewing LPAs.• Building private equity portfolios, within a wider investment programme.• Accepting and embracing market cycles to enhance returns.• Managing risk to enhance diversity and embrace the benefits of Modern Portfolio Theory.• Strong sell discipline to quite strong managers ahead of any performance downturn
