I completed my ASYE in a refferal and assesment team. As part of my role help in completing a 'Child a Familly assessment' within 45 days and assessing the safeguarding risks and needs for the children and young people and the rest of the family. This role taught me how to complete in-depth and thorough assessments while also working towards strict statutory timescales.My roles and responsibilities consisted of:- Making the first initial home visit within 5 days of receiving the referral.- Using direct work tools when working with children to understand their lived experiences.- Completing an assessment within 45 days of receiving a referral.- Demonstrating partnership working, with police, schools, GPs, Health Visitors, and other relevant professionals. - Participating in strategy meetings, and completing a section 47 enquiry.- Completing chronologies and case summaries always ensuring that they are up to date.

I completed my final placement working in the children looked after team. As part of my role I help promote the wellbeing of children in care from the ages of 0 to 18, exercise corporate parenting / court work/ ensure children achieve early permanency. I have a duty to ‘improve outcomes and actively promote the life chances of children’ who are looked after by Tower Hamlets. This is known as corporate parenting. My role and responsibility consists - Statuary LAC visits - Working with internal and external stake holders- Writing up care plans - Participating LAC reviews , professionals meetings , and CPMS.- Competing chronology’s and single assessments. - Advocating for my children and young people .- Ensuring that all of my cases notes and relevant information are updated on the system . - Completing life story work and letter box contact .- Working with foster carers, supervising social workers and prospective adopters.- Writing quality and in-depth court reports and assessments.
