Welcome to my profile,As a graduate of an engineering school at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Ingénieurs du Mans, I did a PhD and then several post-doctorates in France and abroad. My areas of expertise are focused on the study of acoustic propagation in complex (porous and granular) environments. But also on the damping of the vibrations of a satellite by granular method. These different experiences have allowed me to acquire a great experience in: - Acoustic experimentation (ability to anticipate instrumentation needs and to propose techniques and methods of measurements allowing the study of a phenomenon). - Scientific programming as well as finite elements and discrete elements simulations.Curious, I have the taste of teamwork, as well as a rigorous working methodology allowing the mastery of project management, from the development to the written or oral communication of the advances.I also believe that the skills and methodologies I have acquired in the academic field can be transposed to the industrial field. The bridge between these two worlds is not impassable and the challenge is motivating. For more information on some of my work, please visit :Https://www.researchgate.net/profile/Stephane_GriffithsDo not hesitate to contact me if you have any question !

The absorption of acoustic waves at low frequencies, when the wavelength is very large in front of the thickness of the treatment, remains a challenge. The work carried out was to study the performance of a new category of poro-granular materials, composed of hollow spherical shells. The hulls may be rigid or elastic, drilled or with a neck (Helmholtz resonator), impervious or microporous (double porosity). These materials allow a wide variety of configurations by mixing shells with different properties, combining the resonant effects of elastic shells, Helmholtz resonators or diffusion of materials with double porosity. The concomitance of all these mechanisms makes possible to increase very significantly the efficiency of acoustic absorbers in low frequencies while avoiding intrinsic constraints of more conventional materials. The use of such materials opens the way towards a reduction in the thickness of conventional treatments.

The aim of this work is to attenuate the micro-vibrations generated during the opening of the solar panels of a satellite. Initially, DMA studies were carried out in order to select the most damping elastomer material. Hollow elastomer granules are then manufactured with the most damping material and damping measurements of honeycomb beams filled with these grains are carried out and compared with theoretical models. In order to validate the experimental data, a modeling using the discrete element method is performed.Missions:- Interface with industrial partners (ATECA, Montauban and ASTRIUM, Toulouse)- Dynamic mechanical analysis (DMA) of elastomer materials- Measurements of structures'vibrations damped by granular method- Validation of experimental data by discrete elements modeling
