I have been in the healthcare sector for 25 years working primarily as an independent sales consultant bringing new innovative products to the market. In 2010, I became highly motivated to find solutions to the immense problem of medical waste. I was hired by Medline Industries in 2013 to work as a clinical sales specialist primarily focused in the operating room. Part of my responsibilities was to help promote and grow market share with ReNewal, their reprocessing division. I had previously worked independently with Sterilmed, a highly successful reprocessing company that was later acquired by J&J. While at Medline, I wrote a PowerPoint presentation “ Greening of the OR, a Medline Solution “ that highlights the major waste issues in surgery and the corresponding solutions that are provided by products and services from Medline.
