In order to support the new regulations, Transport Canada Marine Safety is restructuring the Boat Identification and Safety System (BIASS) program into a new Small Vessels Manufacturers Monitoring System (SVMMS) program. In support of this change, new software was to be developed understanding that it had to adapt to some of the existing functionality of the BIASS application. BIASS was mainly a system primarily designed to calculate maximum safe recommended limits and manage compliance notice orders. SVMMS is a system designed to monitor the compliance of Manufacturers and Importers with the regulations, manage non-compliance, safety complaints, annual report and ultimately recalls actions while retaining some of the options (such as the calculation of design limits) of the previous iteration.The senior analyst is responsible for the delivery of the primary details functional analysis/design and development of the new application.• Delivered the primary Object Oriented functional analysis report for the new application functionality. DAPLS also manages the printing of the requests for secure documents through a secure .NET (2.0) VPN application connected to CBN (the Canadian Bank Note company) servers • Completed the conversion of MPM (Manufacturer’s Production Marks) from Classic ASP to .Net 2.0. This client facing internet application allows the clients to reserve, attach or detach the 4 character production mark that is applied to the tail of every aircraft in Canada, this application also passed the CLF 2.0 standards enacted by the Treasury Board of Canada • Completed the maintenance of the Flight Training and Education system. This national multi-user PowerBuilder 10.5/12/VB.Net (2.0) application was designed to manage both the external and internal flight exams administered by Transport Canada at its offices or flight training centers in Canada, and consists of over 75,000 lines of Object oriented code as well as 30 screens • Designed the new Oracle 10g object data models using ERWin (both logical and physical) • Delivering the new database stored procedures and table level triggers • Developed the FTAE back-end data access processes using in-line SQL code within the VB.Net (2.0) object-oriented code, and wrote the necessary stored procedures using PL/SQL on an Oracle 10g database • Delivered all the object-oriented code layout diagrams that were created in Microsoft Visio as well as the applicable Oracle table data flow diagrams • Delivered all documents required by the Waterfall SDLC
