Founder Of The Assassin'S Creed FranchiseUbisoft Montréal Oct 2004 - Feb 2016Montreal, Canada AreaUbisoft is the world's 3rd largest independent console game publisher.October 2004 in Montreal.I started working as a Senior AI Programmer on the Assassin's Creed franchise, before it was even called its actual name. I was doing the AI architecture for our brand new engine by then and dealt with pretty much all imaginable production issues you can face building a new AAA franchise from scratch, while building a new engine from scratch, at the dawn of a new console generation. In 2007, I became AI architect on AC2, solving newer productions issues until the finish line. I served as both R&D and support for anything related to Gameplay and AI in the brand. In 2009, I was then Director of Gameplay and AI on Brotherhood, accountable for shipping every AI and Gameplay related systems, overseeing a multidisciplinary team of more than 40 people, with strict deadlines and not much room for failure. In 2010, it was time i gave back much of this knowledge to my colleagues, so I took a break from production and became Director of Gameplay and AI Programmers (150+ people) for the whole of Ubisoft Montreal Studio, managing talents by overseeing career paths, salary equity, performance evaluations, technology trends, trainings in collaboration with Paris HQ, etc...And then in 2012 I started to get some experience on the consulting side by becoming a Production Advisor on the largest brands of the studio. My mission was to improve the efficiency of teams in a transversal way, reduce friction by using the knowledge shared across several of the biggest franchises. I worked with WatchDogs and Far Cry on various topics like technology assessments and resource allocation processes. In 2014 I took a sabbatical leave for family reasons and was back in production in May 2015. I was Lead Programmer on an unannounced project at the Ubisoft FunHouse and got some expertise there on web related topics. That was a quick sum up of my 12 years at Ubisoft Montreal. -
