I served as chairperson for the department while also serving as an inclusion teacher in biology, financial literacy, algebra, geometry, ELA and business English general education courses for students with disabilities at Reed High School (formerly Einstein Charter High School) in New Orleans East. I plan individualized instruction, assist students in general education classes, and assist teachers in developing and implementing modifications and accommodations that provide a free and appropriate education in the least restrictive environment.

I taught English as a Second Language to learners in ninth and tenth grade at Einstein Charter High School at Sarah Towles Reed. I also assist students with accessing content in core classes, utilize differentiation to improve learning outcomes, and suggest modifications for curriculum to address individual needs.

I taught EDCI 3440--Corrective Reading, a practicum for undergraduate UNO elementary teacher education students, at Ben Franklin Elementary and at Village de l'Est Elementary School in New Orleans. I previously taught Literacy Foundations for UNO for one semester, in a virtual format.

I served four years as the librarian at Ben Franklin Elementary School. I also taught reading to developing readers, and secured new funding by organizing book fairs twice per year, and encouraging students to participate in monthly book orders from Scholastic. I added more than 1000 hardcover books to the library, through donations from the University of New Orleans College of Education, and expanded online reading options through First Book. Wrote and received grants for I-pads and electronic readers.
