I work as an assistant in the department of Hearing, Speech, and Language Sciences (HSLS) here at Gallaudet. I am responsible for organizing and planning department events, assisting the department head in activities, and file management and organization. I am currently working on a retrospective project gathering data from previous Gallaudet students.

Evaluation of clients presenting with autism spectrum disorders (ASD), articulation disorders, fluency disorders, phonological processing disorders, cognitive disorders, and receptive and expressive language delays and disorders.Experience with the following assessments: Rossetti Infant-Toddler Language Scale, Preschool Language Scale-5, Arizona Articulation Proficiency Scale-3, speech and language sampling, and informal assessments of receptive and expressive language. Experience writing diagnostic reports.Documentation experience including therapy plans, progress notes, and treatment (S.O.A.P.) notes. Experience providing treatment to the pediatric population in the following areas: AAC, pragmatic language disorders, fluency disorders, articulation disorders, Autism spectrum disorder, developmental language delay, and phonological processes.

Evaluation and treatment of adult swallowing disorders, adult voice disorders, and dysarthria. Dysphagia evaluation included set up and evaluation of MBSS. MBS reports were done using the MBSImP. This rotation included both an acute care and an outpatient rehabilitation setting. Inpatient charting and notes were done using McKesson HED. I completed a research project here on quality of life surveys as functional outcome measures for voice disorders, swallowing disorders, and dysphagia, specifically for the head and neck cancer population.

One of my favorite jobs! I was responsible for educating a team on the impact of autism spectrum disorders on children and their peers. I provided push-in support to a diverse group of kiddos with varying needs. I was additionally involved in planning and scheduling several camp activities.
