I'm a Melbourne-based freelance copyeditor and copywriter with a passion for the job and extensive experience in a range of industries. That experience is one of the many benefits of working for myself. I love the flexibility, I love the satisfaction, but most of all I love that it brings me a wider range of work than I could find anywhere else. I can let my creativity flow by writing about anything and everything, and polishing it into something I - and my client - can be proud of.I have a Certificate IV in Professional Writing and Editing, but to be honest that's not really where my skills came from. When I was about a year old I ditched the teddies and started hugging books, and it was a harbinger of things to come. Wherever I went a book was sure to follow, and that's how I developed my vocabulary and attention to detail. That and a good dose of innate ability - I've just always had a mind for spelling and grammar, and friends and family have had to put up with my constantly pointing out errors since before I even went to school!I'm also a part-time veterinarian, so I have a very strong grounding in science. That's why many of my clients are academics, and trust me with their papers and theses. This is some of my favourite work, because I get to discover emerging research in many different areas.I also love copywriting, because it's the most challenging my work gets. My whole life I've been writing high-quality informative pieces, and I still enjoy researching and writing articles and blog posts. But marketing requires a totally different style of writing, and I've loved developing my skills in this area over the past few years.
