ServiceNow Cloud Observability (previously Lightstep)

Currently managing and growing teams under the Data Acquisition org here at Lightstep. 3 teams across 2 functions within engineering report to me.

The Solutions Architect role at LightStep is very cross-functional. I am essentially a customer-facing engineer, with a background specializing in consulting and technical architectures, dedicated to the accounts that I also manage as an Account Manager.* Own and represent some of our key enterprise customers* Drive adoption, instrumentation and architectural strategies for those customers* Deliver architectural sessions, POCs, trainings, consulting...* Take key learnings and observations from my customers back to product and engineering* Solution/code all the things so our customers can get the most out of LightStep!

* Stackery is an early stage startup that helps engineers design and deploy serverless applications in AWS* 3rd engineering hire doing both frontend and backend development* Backend development mainly in NodeJS and Go, utilizing AWS cloud technologies for all storage etc. (since it is all serverless code)* Frontend development using React/Redux and websockets* Serverless wrapper (reflection) instrumentation in C#, Java, Go and Python* Some of the cloud services I worked with on a regular basis include AWS IAM policy and permissions management, MariaDB, AWS Kinesis, AWS Lambda, AWS Elasticache, AWS API Gateway/Stages/Cloudfront/Certs, ECS/Docker, Fargate, DynamoDB, SNS and IOT

* Project Lead on a NodeJS microservices backend for a large hospitality company* Goal was to enable a new mobile application, including keyless entry* Technologies used: AWS CFT and Terraform, AWS API Gateway, AWS ELB, AWS ECS & EC2, AWS Lambda, AWS SNS, AWS DynamoDB, Docker, Hapi and Redis using agile practicesPre-sales: * worked on creating and scoping the multi-million SOW and getting it signed* was 1 of 4 in a core team dedicated to the project appraisal and discovery phase, through architecture designs, functional requirement gathering, and contract negotiation and risk management. (this success played a large part in my promotion)* stayed on the project to lead implementationPost-sales: * technical lead, created hapi server template and design patterns for team to follow* created simple the DevOps pipelines (Multi-environment orchestrated deployments to AWS using Terraform, CICD pipeline using Jenkins, AWS ECS docker containers, Mocha, Chai and Cucumber for BDD* worked on product/expectations alignment with frontend mobile app team, key internal and external stakeholders, bug and feature prioritizationWas to be promoted a second time thanks to this project going well and us signing another deal off it, before I turned in my resignation.

* Offshore Lead on a data dashboard & visualization product for a large networking hardware company (mid Nov 2016 - Feb 2017)* worked with d3.js, Go, ElasticSearch, Java servlets, Angular, React* POC'd and created code patterns for offshore team to follow for each visualization type* defined and helped implement requirements for a data ingestion pipeline written in Go, ElasticSearch and Java* Software Engineer in an early phase commerce and loyalty platform for an international franchise (May 2017 - mid Nov 2017)* worked with Akka, Scala and Play (Kafka and Cassandra)* defined new architectural requirements and microservices built on top of existing backend in Java using domain driven design principles to serve data to the mobile loyalty application* worked on initial code patterns for an end to end microservice using all technologies and demo'd to stakeholders, then fleshed out to a more principled service template & trained engineers on how it worked

Exposed to many programming languages both functional and non as part of curriculum including Haskell, OCaml, Java, C/C++, Lisp, Python (NLTK and ML), Javascript
