* Lead the commissioned Cheshire west and Chester Young carers service, providing line management to the team of Young Carer Practitioners, volunteers and Sessional Workers. * Establish and maintain positive relationships with key partnership providers.* Ensure that outcomes are improved for young carers within Cheshire west and Chester by ensuring the service delivered meets the needs of Young carers. * Ensure service delivered is an efficient and effective use of the organisations commissioned budget. * work with commissioners, social care and early help staff as well as education and other agencies to improve the outcomes for young careers in Cheshire west and Chester.* Consult with young carers to ensure we provide a service that meets their needs. * Complete and submit quarterly performance monitoring reports to commissioners, including any relevant data on the performance of the service.* Case management; ensure all young carers referred into the service are assessed in a timely manner, and regularly audit case files to ensure existing young carers are receiving appropriate level of support. * Proactively support and provide information and advice to help Young Carers reach their full potential. Offer and facilitate 1-1 activity support to reduce the impact of caring, improve health and wellbeing and build resilience. * Attendance and contribution at multiagency meetings such as TAF, CIN and CP.

As the Participation and Inclusion Officer, my main responsibilities are to run, coordinate and chair regular Children in Care Council meetings for children in care and care leavers ages 7-25. The children in care council gives young people in care opportunities to have their voice heard in regards to the care they receive, regionally and nationally. Another part of my role is to plan a range of activities for children in care, these range from small activities to large scale events for our children. I also coordinate regular groups for care leavers to meet other young people in similar circumstances, whilst learning independence skills.

As a schools specialist project worker, I was responsible for working with a number of schools across Cheshire west and Chester to ensure Young carer friendly schools. This included raising awareness of Young Carers by delivering assemblies and PSHCE workshops, equipping schools with training to ensure they feel confident identifying and supporting young Carers, delivering drop-in sessions to support any identified young Carers either 1:1 or in a group environment.

As the caseworker for Cheshire East, I was responsible for the processing referrals, completing needs assessments and coordination of support for Young Carers across the borough of Cheshire East. I worked closely with families with complex needs, and attend and contributed to all important meetings regarding the young carers, such as CAF, Child in need and Child Protection meetings and Child Protection Case Conferences. I was responsible for case managing a high caseload, ensuring that the young carers have access to the correct level of support, whilst working in a holistic way. As the Caseworker for Cheshire East, it is important that I worked in a multi-agency manner, working closely with other professionals such as schools, social workers, family support workers, and other relevant agencies/organisations, to ensure young carers have the correct level of support, and to raise the awareness of young carers.

Working as a Learning Support Assistant was an extremely diverse role, with many responsibilities. My main responsibility was to support children who have SEN. This included working with children with have Autism, ADHD, behavioural problems, Social and Emotional Difficulties, Dyslexia, Mild-Moderate Learning Difficulties, visual Impairments, and Medical needs. This also involved planning and delivering a number of intervention sessions to meet the needs of the children.

For a number of months I worked as a casual Personal Assistant/ Family Support and supported a young person with complex needs. I introduced a number of interventions to the family to help the young person’s communication. I also offered family support to the family during times of need and sign posting to relevant agencies.

With Community Of Youth I volunteered as a Youth Advisor. My role was to encourage children and young people to get involved in the development of their community. This involved offering advice in work, education, Drug and Alcohol abuse, sexual health and C-Card.

After leaving University, I worked as a Children’s Support Worker. I was quickly promoted to team leader. I supported ventilator dependent children. This involved an intensive training program at Alder Hey Hospital to be competent in Tracheostomy, Ventilator Care and Administering Medication. As team leader it was my role to supervise the team, rectify problems, train new members of staff, and take part in reviewing support plans.
