My name is Stephanie Blakesley, and I graduated with my Doctor of Nursing Practice - Nurse Midwifery from The University of Kansas. I am a Certified Nurse Midwife, and an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant with over 10 years experience in Maternal Child. My husband and I live in Overland Park with our three kids. I am passionate about prenatal and postnatal mental health and thrive on education with young adult women. I currently work at a FQHC as a CNM, having the opportunity to assess and treat patients with numerous barriers to healthcare. I love working with the underserved, underinsured and uninsured population. These patients make me feel fulfilled in what I do, and I enjoy providing education and care in women’s health! There has been a gap in women’s healthcare since the beginning. Being able to take the time and listen to my patients, allowing them to have input in the care and treatments they receive, and building a trusting relationship is extremely important to me. I have found through practice that providers often are not taking the time to educate our patients on what is being chosen for a recommendation or treatment. I love being able to educate and empower women through healthcare so that they keep coming back and staying on top of their health in an inclusive environment.
