I am currently a graduate student at Albertus Magnus College. I am receiving my MFA in writing. My scholarly passions are reading and writing. I spend most of my time writing fiction but I have recently expressed interest in creative nonfiction. Outside of school, I work almost forty hours per week at Lorenzo's Ristorante. This restaurant is my home outside of my home. Because this is a family restaurant, I feel very close to my bosses and my coworkers. I know the job title "deli clerk" does not sound very impressive and maybe it is not to the average professional. However, I have a lot of responsibility, probably more responsibility than the average minimum wage job. I am in charge of making sandwiches, answering all of the phones, taking to go orders, taking catering orders, gathering supplies for orders, filling dressings, cleaning, handling the register, taking messages for parties in the restaurant and taking reservations. I do a lot for very little money and I give my all to a job that I am not even passionate about. I am passionate about people and English. I would do anything for someone to give me a chance to do something I love. I already know I am responsible enough; this job is proof of that.
