i worked within the Adolescent Safeguarding Team. My duties are: - To safeguard and promote the welfare of young people, giving due consideration to their race, culture, religion and linguistic background. - To work collaboratively with other agencies delivering multi-agency integrated services.- To act as a lead professional undertaking core and case management responsibility for coordinating team around the family interventions which address identified need.- To take a lead role in more complex case work and developing project work for the team in line with service priorities alongside the management team. - To record all interventions and case work records and ensure that all required information is written and stored in accordance with policies and quality assurance. .- To undertake direct social work responsibilities as an allocated worker to the children and young people assigned, investigating concerns regarding a child or young person’s safety or wellbeing, make an assessment of the risk and protective factors in the family and decide on the most appropriate course of action. - To work with children and young people, families, carers and communities to formulate care plans in partnership, based on their assessment of need, enabling them to clarify and express their needs and contribute to their planning

The day-to-day running of a 24 hour staffed hostel for young people with high support needs.- Keyworking a caseload of clients, assessing their support needs and writing support plans.- Conducting risk assessments and recording identified risks in relation to the young people.- Liaising with other services such as social services, the youth offending team, probation, the police, care coordinators, the local authority, family members and other supported lodgings in order to create a communicative support network around the young people.- Support young people to achieve greater independence, through conducting workshops which teach skills such as cooking and budgeting.- Support NEET individuals who are ready to engage with some form of education or apprenticeship to access this.- To help young people access support in regards to their mental health or offending behavior.- To support young people to appointments; such as mental health assessments, court, doctors appointments, job centre appointments.- Support young people to claim benefits and become financially independent.
