About Stephanie Chew

Enthusiastic R&D scientist with an M.S in Animal Biology and 7+ of industry experience in human health and immunology fields with a focus on microbiologic applications. Currently I research the effect of key bacteria and nutrition on infant immune development. I lead novel inVitro studies using cell culture and pro-inflammatory analyte analysis with samples from around the world in ongoing large scale clinical studies.My masters thesis focused on NGS techniques to study the gut microbiome and the impact of the host-microbe relationship on overall health. I then analyze and study the effects of malnutrition and restoration ecology of the gastrointestinal tract using bioinformatic platforms to gain a greater understanding of the complex relationships between microbiota and host biology.Previously, I worked to develop and integrate novel probiotic and antimicrobial strains into various human and companion animal food systems. We focused on adding probiotics or bacteriocins from known beneficial microbes as a more natural alternative to to address common foodborne pathogens.
