I'm a passionate human and an enthusiastic, product-minded software engineer. I have over five years of experience building fullstack applications and enjoy seeking out experiences that challenge me to grow both personally and professionally.Majority of my technical experience is in building customer-facing fullstack applications using React, TypeScript, and Node.js at early-stage startups. I've also built internal observability dashboards, contributed to open-source enterprise frameworks, stood up GraphQL layers, rewritten Nginx server configs, built a Golang backend, developed React Native apps, created SVG charting libraries, and done at lot of TDD. I work best on fun, high-performing teams that value diligent, focused work and time away to recuperate. I have many interests outside of tech that are valuable in their own right, but also allow me to reset and show up energized at work the following day. I'm looking for a team that embodies values like autonomy and trust, accountability and ownership, openness, humility, and first-principles thinking.Before learning to code, I worked as a foreign English teacher in Thailand and a wilderness therapy guide in Colorado. Since then I’ve called six different states home, traveled through Latin America as a digital nomad, lived/worked out of an RV while exploring the mountain west, and tackled many big life goals. I embrace what we call "Type II fun" in the outdoor adventure realm—the difficult but rewarding challenges that lead to growth (they're fun in retrospect!).My hobbies outside of work include outdoor sports like hiking, mountain biking, and skiing, playing competitive volleyball, reading, writing, listening to podcasts, and fostering deep, genuine connections with others.
