I oversee daily newsroom operations and breaking news situations in collaboration with KUNC's Executive News Director. I also edit feature stories and newcast spots, mentor reporters and producers, and host The Colorado Dream podcast from KUNC.

The “American Dream” was coined in 1931 and since then the phrase has inspired people to work hard and dream big. But is it achievable today? Graduating from college is challenging, jobs are changing, and health care and basic rights can be a luxury. I report on the barriers people face and overcome to succeed and create a better life for themselves and their families.

2017 Excellence in Health Care Journalism Award: Consumer/Feature (small), third place. Reported and produced a documentary podcast series about the opioid epidemic in New York City. Interviewed people with opioid dependence, public health officials, and treatment providers.

Wrote show scripts, researched and interviewed in-studio guests and conducted two-way interviews with reporters for this live student-run podcast, which aired online and on stations WHCR, WHDD and WGXC.

Published story about college dorm for students in recovery, shot and produced social video, assisted reporters and producers, edited tape, researched and pitched stories, pre-interviewed sources for “Me and My Therapist,” which aired Aug. 2016.
