I studied journalism for 2 and and half years at Concordia. I worked for Fossil and their sister company Watch Station International for the better part of 3 years, and prior to that Express. I discontinued my education to pursue a career in the sky. I underwent a month's worth of vigorous training and was hired on as a flight attendant for Envoy Air, the regional airline of American Airlines.After 7 years of flying with Envoy I went on to work remotely for United Healthcare as a customer service representative with a focus in employer group Medicare advantage plans. This is my current employment and in this job I have learned more extensive work with Microsoft, skills in researching plan coverage, appeals, working with claims and payments, working with providers, assisting in prior authorizations, prescription drug coverage, and many others. I’ve also been made a part of our Compassion Ambassadors Committee with UHC, chosen by my supervisor to be on this team for my empathy and compassion with customers. On this team we work to display all the stories of compassion from our team members from the interactions they’ve had with members, to encourage others to really show our members that we care. In the future I’m hoping to do something less customer facing and more internal to really help with improvement in healthcare.
