I am currently a pre-service teacher at Kennesaw State University. Upon graduation, I will be certified to teach general education to preschool through 5th. From a young age, I've enjoyed helping others. In high school, I had opportunities to explore a potential career in education. I tutored peers and participated in a collaborative preschool program. In this program, my high school hosted a preschool, in which one of the classrooms served as a preschool. In the classroom, I planned and taught the curriculum and worked one-on-one with students. These experiences strengthened my love of watching kids meet educational, social, and emotional milestones. I also enjoyed tutoring peers and watching them grow. My interest in teaching continued past high school. In college, I have had the opportunity to participate in three internships and collaborate with teachers. During these internships, I have worked with a variety of students. For instance, I have worked with English-learning students, as well as students with 504s and IEPS. I have also planned and implemented the curriculum. In addition, I have worked one-on-one with struggling students. Through my college courses, I have learned ways to plan and implement assessments, manage difficult behaviors, differentiate instruction, teach the content areas of science, math, and language arts, and incorporate technology into the classroom.Going forward, I hope to teach the older grades, however, I am open to teaching the younger ones. I am also interested in graduate school.
