Lead the Program Division of MCASA with a focus on fostering a collaborative and productive work environment, grant administration, implementing new initiatives, and providing expert information to sexual assault service providers throughout Maryland. Support Maryland’s 17 Rape Crisis and Recovery Centers through development of customized trainings, in-person and online training opportunities, and maintaining Maryland’s Rape Crisis Center’s Program Standards. Key Contributions• Supervise a high-preforming staff of 4 and oversea a department of 10 staff members specializing in various areas of sexual assault prevention and response. Foster a trauma-informed remote work environment built on a foundation of support, respect, collaboration, and clear communication. • Execute grant management tasks for both federal and state funding. Collaborate with staff to complete grant applications, oversee quarterly and annual reporting, and ensure compliance and success of grant goals and deliverables.• Lead the many facets of the implication of Maryland’s American Rescue Plan funding for Sexual Assault programs, including overseeing the creation of a grant administration infrastructure, creating the White Paper and other grant application resources, and facilitating the application and grant awarding process of nearly three million dollars.• Served as an Executive Policy Committee member on the Public Safety Policy Committee for Governor Wes Moore and Lt. Governor Aruna Miller’s Transition Team. Worked with other top state leaders to review key public safety policies, recommend metrics to measure success, and identified critical next steps to implement policy change.

Maryland

• Played a key role in transitioning staff to an extended telework environment during the COVID-19 pandemic, including researching, designing and implementing practices to support staff members. Sustained critical organizational services including quickly learning complicated new training delivery technology and adjusting training sessions to online platforms. Successfully transitioned key fundraising events to a virtual stage. • Directed the development of Maryland’s program standards for rape crisis and recovery centers. Implemented best practices to organize and support the development process by benchmarking draft standards against similar regulations in other states, organized draft materials and logistics for program standard committee meetings, and incorporated feedback from high level leaders. Continue to provide technical assistance to rape crisis and recovery centers on program standard requirements and support programs in achieving compliance. • Championed the redesigning of MCASA’s service provider training program, including updating our statewide training request processes, training staff on adult learning theory and best practices, and reviewed, evaluated, and revised over 20 existing training workshops.

Shippensburg, Pennsylvania

Directed the Women’s Center vision and mission to promote equality, empowerment and ending violence. Provided resources for the campus including serving as an advocate and resource for students and employees that were victims of sexual misconduct. Partnering with counselors, police officers, legal personnel and Dean of Student’s staff members to aid victims in recovery and healing. Researched, developed and facilitated educational programs and workshops designed to bring awareness to the complex concerns and needs of women including topics of consent, intimate partner abuse and bystander intervention. Fostered a productive, efficient work environment among the Women’s Center employees including supervising an office manager, student assistants, interns and volunteers. Collaborated with university departments and offices including Student Activities, the Women’s and Gender Studies Department and the Career and Community Engagement Center to provide quality programs and services to the campus community.Key Contributions• Led a team of professionals from various offices in implementing the Ship Says No More campaign to end sexual misconduct on campus. Empowered all faculty, administrators, staff and students to combat violence on Shippensburg University’s campus through passive education efforts, a comprehensive website and training workshops. • Co-advised Reach Out, a Honors Program service learning initiative that coordinates a weeklong trip to the Dominican Republic to train and teach in a disadvantaged Dominican primary school. • Implemented the Women’s Institute for Leadership and Learning (WiLL), a half-day training program focusing on leadership skill building.• Planned annual major campus initiatives including the Take Back the Night anti-violence rally, a benefit performance of The Vagina Monologues and the Women’s History Month speaker.• Participated in policy review and training on Clery Act and Title IX compliance.

Shippnesburg, Pa

Serve as the principle advisor on issues of equity, access and inclusion. Provide vision and direction for inclusion initiatives by leading, developing and facilitating programs and training for faculty, staff, administrators and students on equity, access and diversity. Responsible for implementation and evaluation of programs related to compliance with laws and policies regulating nondiscrimination and equality for faculty, staff and students. Oversee investigation and resolution of complaints pertaining to discrimination, violence and harassment.Key Contributions• Implementing the three components of the “It’s on Us” grant awarded by the Pennsylvania Department of Education. The $27,000 in funds are allocated to improve sexual misconduct reporting resources through a 24-hour advocacy line, encrypted online reporting and a safety smart phone application.• Planning and implementing the 2016-2017 Day of Human Understanding, a campus-wide program with special events that reflect on equality, inclusion and cultural competence.• Coordinating the first phases of a Campus Living, Learning and Working Environment Assessment. Serving as the lead liaison between Shippensburg University and Sue Rankin and Associates, the consulting firm for the survey project.

Greater Pittsburgh Area

Constructed and implemented more than 100 co-curricular programs annually that aligned with the educational and social values of the university, including local and regional trips, live performances, interactive workshops, and lectures. Multi-tasked during demanding work seasons such as Orientation, Fall Fest, Siblings Weekend, and Spring Traditions Week. Maintained and accounted for 25 budget lines totaling $125,000. Continually researched, developed, and facilitated leadership opportunities for students.Key Contributions• Envisioned and co-led the steering committee to produce the inaugural Women of Color Herstory Month, a slate of programs in February and March designed to celebrate women of color that received a proclamation from the Pittsburgh City Council.• Supervised and provided support to Chatham University’s AmeriCorps VISTA volunteer and the community service programs in that department.• Utilized a holistic and participatory approach to campus programming by building relationships and collaborating with various administrative and academic departments as well as other universities and community organizations in the Pittsburgh area.
