I work in the Communications and Training team for My GCHR which is the new Human Resources Information System used by the federal government, otherwise known as Peoplesoft 9.1. I help prepare the training manuals and ensure the User Productivity Kit (UPK) is efficient and adds value. I will be delivering training to the trainers in other departments once their roll-out time has come.

I took a deployment to learn the 'client' side of HR in order to help me serve them in the future as an HR Advisor. I submitted HR requests for Staffing and Classification, wrote assessments against the statement of merit criteria for approval, participated in interviews, and learned the financial system SAP with the custom module SFT (Salary Forecasting Tool).

Continue to monitor and process all Fast-Track requests. Create electronic tools to efficiently track all HR requests. Be the point of contact for general HR questions from both internal and external sources.

As a member of the Fast-Track Staffing team, I process staffing requests such as deployments, acting <4 months, secondments, term extensions, casual workers, 3 year term rollovers, and student hires through FSWEP, COOP, and RAP. I also perform some Classification functions such as changing the linguistic profile or the security level of a position. I use PeopleSoft to complete these transactions as well as maintain hard copies of the employee's file.
