I’ve been teaching over 10 years and have experience across KS1 to KS3, and with SEN-D. I have been tutoring small groups and 1:1 for over three years, tailoring provision to the individuals, building confidence and self-esteem whilst developing students’ knowledge and understanding to mastery.The starting point doesn’t matter; it’s about working on the skills and strategies so your child is able to work and learn more independently when they take these skills into school. For the past 4 years I have worked in Year 3 and 5 at Moulsham Junior School, with pupils from more affluent backgrounds than my previous school. I worked in Year 3 in the academic year 2018-19, and in Year 5 from September 2019 to 2022.I used my own love of music and playing several instruments to support me in my role as Music coordinator; I organised a school-wide a Music Day in 2019, to promote a love of music and broaden experiences for all our pupils, and again led a Year 5 Music Day in January 2022. My Masters dissertation explored the impact of music on pupils’ progress and academic development, which I used to inform changes to the school curriculum.I have taken my previous experience from St Pius X to help further and nurture music in my new school. I also ran the school choir at Moulsham Junior School and in the past have taken them to local competitions and visited our local retirement home and engineering plant to perform at Christmastime, to develop and encourage their confidence and performing skills.During the second lockdown (spring term 2021), I led the year group team of ‘remote learning teachers’ (those supporting the pupils learning at home) in planning and producing the ‘remote learning curriculum’. This also involved communicating with pupils from my own class and another to ensure they received valuable support whilst learning at home, as their teacher was teaching keyworker children in school.I intend to take on new challenges in leadership in the near future, with a particular interest in taking on a new subject such as science or maths as my other specialist subjects (I studied both at A-Level) and becoming a phase leader/deputy headteacher.I am currently taking a short break from teaching to have a baby.

My name is Steph Frazer and I have been teaching for eight years across years 3-5, with an excellent understanding of progression from key stage 1 into year 3 as well as throughout key stage 2. I have worked with children with a range of educational and developmental needs including special needs and EAL. Last academic year (2021-22), I tutored two year 4 children with the aim to support and close gaps in their learning influenced by the lockdowns imposed during the last two years.I’m currently taking a short break from teaching to have a baby.

I have worked across Year 3 and 4 in a Catholic Primary School for four years, with pupils from a range of backgrounds, including children from disadvantaged areas and with nearly half the school population with English as an Additional Language. I started the school choir in my NQT year at St Pius and we successfully participated in a range of community events, including Young Voices 2014, Junior Music Festival (in Chelmsford) for the four years, and raised money for charity by performing Christmas Carols at the train station; as well as participating in the Phoenix Rotary School Choir Completion for the first time in 2018. I use my own love of music and playing several instruments to support me in my role as Music coordinator. I also help the role of Geography and History coordinator 2018-19 and addressed the current system to assess children’s progress in foundation subjects. I intend to take on new challenges in leadership in the near future.
