“Visual Rebellion” is a project under the NGO Human Rights in the Picture that aims to create awareness about the ongoing military coup in Myanmar and hopes to promote people’s human rights by being a platform for Burmese photographers, journalists, filmmakers and artists to display their work anonymously as an act of resistance against the military government. I helped launch the project by creating the Visual Rebellion Myanmar social media channels and building a network with quality followers. I was responsible for writing and posting content for all social media channels while keeping the identities of our creators hidden for safety and security reasons. I maintained the Visual Rebellion website and kept it up-to-date with relevant news stories. I helped to write proposals for film festivals and funding.I helped set up our exhibition in the Atrium City Hall in the Hague as part of the Movies that Matter Film Festival and gave two guest lectures to promote the work we do in an attempt to raise funds at Movies that Matter on Tour in Utrecht and in Delft. Assisted with any other projects under Human Rights in the Picture, such as a project working with transgender people in Central America through storytelling and impact workshops.
