I work with teachers to reflect on and improve their literacy instruction, so that all children can become powerful readers, writers and thinkers. I provide 1-1 content focused coaching, small group coaching, and professional developments related to areas of literacy, Reading/Writing/Phonics Units of Study, culture, environment, and DEI.Since taking this role, teacher turnover at the school that I serve has decreased exponentially and K-3 has seen no turnover since the 2018-2019 school year.

- Selected as one of 5,800 out of 48,000 applicants to serve in national service corps (Teach for America) committed to teaching in under-resourced communities and becoming life-long leaders to expand opportunities for all children.- Led approximately 20 first graders each year to growing a class average of 1.5 years in literacy and an 90% proficiency in math. - Invested my professional learning community in using student-driven data collection to drive instruction and give students’ ownership over learning. - Participated in professional development at the local level, as well as at Columbia's Teacher College, that aligned with professional goals that were based off of deep reflection and analysis of student data. - Provided guidance and mentorship to a first year teacher through coaching and constructive feedback. Additional Experiences:-Discovery Ambassador Facilitator: I have worked closely with Discovery Education to create a student ambassador program that focused on creating 21st century learners that can be transferred throughout the country. -Magnet Committee Member: Rama Road Elementary has the possibility of becoming a magnet school. I, along with administrators and facilitators, have worked together to build a magnet school that would work for our community and scholars. I created surveys and analyzed their data to build investment among staff and community stakeholders.

- Spent the summer observing the Teacher Leadership Development (TLD) team- Provided insight on how to create meaningful professional development for Teach for America Corps Members, based on data and observations at their Summer Institute. - Created curriculum for the Corps Members that they can take and immediately implement in their classroom after my facilitation session: 1. Calendar curriculum that spirals throughout the school year using the Common Core Standards for Kindergarten and First Grade that is rigorous and differentiated. 2. Troubleshooting guide for Writer's Workshop for teachers in any elementary school classroom that explains exactly what Writer's Workshop is, how to use it successfully, the first month's teaching points, and how to create an effective Procedure-based Lesson Plan. 3. Classroom Management session that new Corps Members will use to create their own management systems in their classroom.

- Created a school-wide globalization curriculum that helped our school communicate with schools across the world and incorporated STEAM into the daily curriculum in a fun and purposeful way.- Scholars are learning to identify similarities between cultures, rather than differences through communication and hands on learning. - Developed a day-long professional development to introduce teachers to the new curriculum and allow them to start facilitating communication with their global partner schools

- Managed other counselors and collaborated with counselors and camp staff to create safe and engaging activities for campers- Created a close relationship with each individual camper to ensure they felt comfortable and at home which led to a strong group culture with enduring relationships- Led different committees with the goal of bringing culture and service to the TIP students during non-instructional time
