Stephanie Halfen was born and raised in Caracas, Venezuela. She received an Architecture degree from Universidad Simon Bolivar where she graduated Summa Cum Laude and an Interior Design Degree from Parsons School of Design in New York where she also graduated with highest Honors.Stephanie started her professional career in college when she was commissioned her first residential project located in El Avila National Park. Turning it into her graduation thesis project she was able to explore in depth the dialogue between landscape and architectural form, between light, space and constructive details, which enabled her to develop innovative ways to live in a tropical climate. Upon graduation, Stephanie established her architecture and design practice in Caracas in 2005 where she worked on numerous projects. She also became an Associate Professor in the Architecture and Design Department at her alma mater – Universidad Simon Bolivar.Stephanie relocated to Miami, Florida in 2009 where she founded SDH Studio Architecture + Design in 2011. Since then SDH has become known for its design excellence and impeccable work ethic, it is also one of the fastest growing high-end boutique architecture and design firms in South Florida.Stephanie is a licensed Architect in the State of Florida and holds the National Council of Architecture Board Certification (NCARB). She also serves on several Architectural Review Boards and is an active member of the AIA – The American Institute of Architects.
