After graduating from Boston University with a degree in Biomedical Engineering, I was offered a position at Dascena as a full time accessioner. For the 6 months that I was with Dascena, the company was operating as a COVID testing facility and we would receive around 1,000 COVID samples a day from our clients who ranged from local hospitals, jails, and at-home tests. At Dascena I was responsible for plating the COVID samples for the lab technicians, tracking the amount of samples that were delivered as well as the time that they arrived and from which client, reporting and rejecting damaged samples, and assisting lab technicians with the RT-PCR tests when available.I am now a cell therapy specialist with nearly 2 years of experience at Lonza. I have experience in aseptic environments, where I excel at maintaining inventory using SAP, performing and reviewing batch records, and ensuring the visual inspection and cryopreservation of final products.I've also gone above and beyond my role by developing tracking systems for corrections and even creating a scheduling application to help supervisors effectively manage our increased production.
