In this role I work across all Stockland business units nationally leading and executing strategy that supports the planning approval, delivery and operation of projects. Preempting and managing projects and project stakeholder issues is a big focus as well as helping to shape the way the organisation interacts with government and other stakeholders in an issues rich policy environment.

In this role I was the communications business partner to both the CFO and CEO - Residential. As a trusted advisor and strategic counsellor, I devised strategy and executed tactics to improve employee engagement, innovation and commercial outcomes as well as built awareness around strategic focus areas while raising the profile of key executives. I provided strategic knowledge to change management issues - helping to steer the business through periods of unsettled change, outsourcing and turnover - minimising negative employee culture and instability. I also had significant involvement in key leadership events across multiple states such as national conferences, national employee roadshow, financial results, Christmas parties etc in terms of strategic agenda and desired outcomes, creation of content and materials, speech writing, speaker sourcing and briefing and production - delivering events on time and budget. I left this role in July 2015 to commence parental leave.

This role was predominately an external communications role managing Stockland’s Residential, Retirement Living and Retail businesses media relations. This included protecting and promoting the positive reputation by producing comprehensive strategic media relations approach, communications plans, developing content and acting as key spokesperson. I also had to remain alert and responsive to issues posing reputational risk and provided advice on crisis management responses - successfully avoided several major damaging incidents with both stakeholders and media particularly for the Residential business.I managed a national panel of PR agencies and maintained and developed relationships with key journalists. I also event and project managed national PR conferences from vision to developing content to production to budget for external and internal stakeholders from across the country.I was nominated for and undertook the Young Women in Leadership program.I was in this role from August 2011 – July 2014 (including parental leave March 2012 – April 2013 & June 2013 – July 2014).

This role provided vast experience across all areas of Corporate Affairs from internal communications, media relations, brand, stakeholder and corporate responsibility and sustainability. Some highlights include organising and running a national program of asset tours across four states from content creation to logistics to hosting to enable every Stockland employee to visit sites.I maintained the communications calendar of media and corporate communications activities to achieve strategic objectives ensuring leverage for employees too.I successfully managed both internal and external crisis communications during North Queensland’s 2011 Category 5 Severe Tropical Cyclone Yasi including working with authorities, media and employees as Stockland shopping centre set up as emergency evacuation centre. I then contributed to significant overhaul of crisis and emergency planning and processes with expert panel.I contributed to media relations and internal communications strategies and production of corporate documents such as the Shareholder Review, supported business PR campaigns and managed PR agencies and built effective relationships with key regional media to support issues management.I also collaborated on project management of key events including results announcements and AGM – including liaising with internal and external stakeholders.

Reporting to the Change Manager, managed the communications program for the roll out of an internal software project that changed the way the Residential business operated and managed the Development, Marketing and Customer process. This work helped to successfully imbed the change within the business.I was in this role part-time while studying at University.
