I am an experienced senior communication specialist with strong expertise across a variety of disciplines and business platforms. I have led communication strategy for global and national companies across more than two dozen industries, ranging from financial services to technology and SAAS, healthcare, real estate and property development, manufacturing and production, and retail. I am experienced in all facets of media and stakeholder strategy, corporate and consumer communications and crisis and issues management. I have managed crises for companies large and small, including New Zealand-based businesses caught up in events affecting their global parents, such as the local entities of AIG and Asia Pulp & Paper.As an author I co-wrote The 4 Day Week: How the Flexible Work Revolution Can Increase Productivity, Profitability and Well-being, and Create a Sustainable Future with Andrew Barnes. It has been published (2020) in Australasia, the UK and Europe and the United States, and in translation.I am also a content specialist, having begun my career as news editor of Craccum, the student magazine of the University of Auckland, where she earned a BA (Hons) in history and literature, with first-class honours. I have produced content for national media outlets including metro daily newspapers, business publications, regional newspapers, vertical / industry media, TV, radio and digital. As publications manager for the New Zealand Automobile Association I was responsible for four magazines in print and online, including the highest-circulating magazine in New Zealand, AA Directions, which peaked at one million readers during my tenure. I am a long-time book reviewer (NZ Booklovers, Coast FM and Crime Watch), and a judge of the Ngaio Marsh Awards for New Zealand crime fiction and the NZ Booklovers Awards.
