Stephanie Koster is currently the CEO of Defense Technologies Inc, an acquisition company with holdings across the Americas with a focus on bringing cutting-edge solutions to the US Government and National Security Ecosystem. She brings extensive experience in domestic and international strategy, finance, and operations focused on technology, innovation and high growth companies. In addition to her role with Defense Technologies Inc., she currently sits on a number of boards.In 2011, she was recruited to be CFO / Director and Treasurer of Blue Origin, LLC and its affiliates for CEO and Amazon founder Jeff Bezos. For 7 years, Ms. Koster headed up all Finance and Business Operations: Program Management, Supplier Management, IT and Cybersecurity, Enterprise Systems and Tools, Risk & Insurance, Human Resources, Finance, Accounting and Tax for the consolidated companies. In this role, Ms. Koster was responsible for building scalable enterprise-wide processes, systems and tools, and multi-site business operations to drive company growth.Prior to Blue Origin, Ms. Koster held senior leadership positions at The Boeing Company in International Business Strategy, Corporate Development/M&A, Global Venture Capital, and Technology Planning & Acquisition. Working with corporate and subsidiary technology leadership, she developed international market strategies and business models for next-generation satellite communication and situation awareness technologies, as well as strategies to productize leading edge technologies for global industrial and government markets – extensively in Asian Pacific, European, US DoD, and emerging markets. Other work includes executive roles at Sierra Nevada Corporation and Vector Launch, board member of the Association of Washington Business, Treasurer of the Blue Origin Political Action Committee, founding Advisory Board Member of a $3B+ investment/merchant banking firm, adjunct University professor, and Deloitte audit & assurance. Ms. Koster has earned an MBA from the University of Washington, a BA in Economics & Accounting from Calvin University, a CPA license and US DoD Secret Clearance. Ms. Koster has judged the University of Washington’s Strategy Development Competition, lectured on careers in finance, and mentored students and employees. She has a passion for various charitable endeavors, especially those focused on adoption and foster care.
