Before moving to Columbia, Missouri in the summer of 2021, I taught biology and chemistry at a high school for the performing arts in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, where I was also the Science Department Chair. I have a B.A. in Biology from Bryn Mawr College and an MEd. from Gratz College (Philadelphia, PA). Once I moved to Columbia, I obtained a temporary part-time job and set aside two hours each day to devote to writing (fiction, creative nonfiction, and poetry). Two of my poems have been accepted for publication; I have completed a creative nonfiction piece; and I am currently one-third of the way through writing the first draft of a novel. In addition to writing, I value being engaged in research. I am currently employed part time to work on recruitment and scheduling of research subjects for a lab in the Department of Nutrition and Exercise Physiology at the University of Missouri, and I have worked as a volunteer research assistant for two psychology professors whose work interested me.
