About Stephanie Lee
I am an architect and the founder of Bliss Architecture. I design homes where you walk in the door and feel a sense of …aahhhh…BLISSI specialise in homes that are in harmony with their owners and the earth. We’re all spending more time in our homes and in our local areas. We have a growing appreciation of the value of the environment and the need to sustain it. I design for our times, with homes that not only transform people’s everyday space but which also sit lightly on the land.I create spaces for people who want to enhance the quality of their life at home, in a way that respects the environment around them. The homes I create have a lower environmental impact to build and to live in for years to come.I create new homes or alterations. I design for families, whose homes have to meet multiple, often conflicting, requirements. I make sure every family member is catered for, under one harmonised roof. I’m based on Victoria’s stunning Mornington Peninsula and whilst I have projects around Victoria and Australia, I particularly love creating beautiful homes for our beautiful local environment.I ensure you get your bliss home by:• Looking and listening - learning about your client’s lifestyle, what you like in your home and what they want to change. Advising on suggested design approaches to match your requirements. • Understanding the lay of the land - inspecting your site, the direction of the light, the breeze, where neighbouring properties sit, in order to harmonise with the land and design for natural light and ventilation, to minimise energy use.• Design - creating a home unique to your way of life and your little piece of Australia• Materials - I use environmentally friendly materials, such as hempcrete and bamboo, which help to lower the energy footprint of building and living in the home. Hempcrete, for example, (made from hemp and lime) is an amazing insulator, and takes a lot less energy to produce and transport than traditional materials. No two households are the same, no two blocks of land are the same. Bliss Architecture designs homes that are unique and bring harmony between the owner and the environment.
